Glass Fiber Wrapped Winding Wire is manufactured by uniformly wrapping one or two layers of alkali-free glass fiber around a copper or aluminum conductor according to customer specifications. The magnet wire undergoes impregnation and baking with insulating varnish—selected for the required temperature rating and compatibility—to bond the glass fibers to each other and to the conductor, forming a cohesive unit. Currently, these products are available in three temperature ratings (130, 155, and 180) and four insulation thickness grades (20, 30, 40, and 50). They are widely used in the windings of transformers, electromagnets, electric welding machines, and similar electrical equipment.
