Titanium-based ruthenium-coated anodes, a type of mixed metal oxide (MMO) electrode, are made by coating ruthenium oxide and other metal oxides (e.g., iridium, tin, titanium dioxide) on titanium substrates. They excel in industrial scenarios requiring chlorine evolution, high-current-density electrolysis and active oxidation, with outstanding electrical conductivity and chemical stability.​ Key coatings include Ru-Ir (for efficient chlorine evolution in brine/seawater), Ru-SnO₂ (cost-effective for organic pollutant oxidation) and Ru-TiO₂ (enhancing lifespan and corrosion resistance). Coating thickness (5–20μm) is adjustable.
